Body Motion Physical Therapy started in 2017 as a mobile physical therapy practice, having established her first brick and mortar location in 2018 and grown from a sole proprietorship to a team of 7 from a 2 office suite to a 5 office suite in just a few years. The root of Dr. Allison’s success is changing the standard of healthcare for women through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and menopause.
Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy became her calling after working with the elderly in outpatient facilities early in her career. Seeing the generations before us suffering with issues like join replacements, incontinence, and chronic pain many of which would not be present if they had received care earlier in their lives for issues that get brushed aside until surgery and medications are the only options.
Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy treats; Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Urinary and Fecal Incontinence, Constipation, Endometriosis, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Sciatica, Sacroiliac Joint pain and more vague issues like low back, hip and pelvic pain.
The goal of Body Motion Physical Therapy is to support this generation of women through pregnancy and birth to reduce the c-section rate and risk of birth injury. To support our clients through postpartum all the way to menopause by to eliminating warning signs of pelvic floor dysfunction like leaking, back pain, discomfort with intercourse all of which lead to issues in later life like joint replacements, surgeries and loss of independence, if never addressed. Even if pelvic floor dysfunction isn’t treated immediately it’s not too late!
Motherhood comes with sacrifices but our health should not be one of them. The fear and stress that come with navigating life in a postpartum body riddled with aches and pains while trying to be present for every precious moment with your baby is a burden women should not be forced to bear. It is common to have issues postpartum but it should not be accepted as the new norm that you suffer with for the rest of your life.
