About the program

Birth is scary. Preparation helps.

Most pregnancy education is about the baby. This is about you.

Birth is a natural part of life, but it's also scary. As the months pass, the very real fact that this baby has to come out, and you'll be the one to make it happen, gets closer. You hear "your body will know what to do" and a lot of stories that aren't sunshine and rainbows. One of the best ways to combat fear is to know what to expect and how to prepare.

Preparation is backed by research. The UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends pelvic floor muscle training during pregnancy, and Cochrane reviews show it lowers the risk of leaking in late pregnancy and after birth, while perineal massage from about 35 weeks reduces tearing that needs stitches.

Dr. Allison Feldt, PT, DPT, is a pelvic floor physical therapist, best-selling author, mother of three, and owner of Body Motion Physical Therapy. This program brings the birth prep protocols she uses with clients in her Edmonds clinic to women wherever they live.

Seeing my wife be empowered going into her birth with confidence and having some idea of what to expect was very comforting. Especially when I didn't have a clue what to expect. My wife is a true powerhouse and we attribute her great delivery to investing in her pelvic floor preparation with Body Motion Birth Preparation Protocol. She used the online program and a virtual visit to really lock in to exactly what to do to prepare. Her recovery was fast. She's now pregnant with number two and doing everything she can with body motion to be ready for the next.... There is nobody doing what Body Motion is doing in the US and you would be doing your wife and family a disservice by not allowing them to help with your birth prep!

Words truly cannot express how grateful I am to Body Motion and their entire team. I started seeing them around 20 weeks pregnant after being recommended by my chiropractor. I went in for that first consult with not a clue what pelvic floor therapy was, little to no knowledge on my body and how pregnancy was affecting it, and absolutely terrified of birth and postpartum recovery. They cared for me throughout the entire second half of my pregnancy and I always left feeling incredibly encouraged, empowered, and further educated on how to feel great in pregnancy and confident in the birthing process. My husband was able to join me for a couple sessions closer to birth as well which was a crucial resource—helping him be the very best advocate and birth partner when the time came. Instead of feeling scared in labor I knew exactly what my body was doing and how to support it through breath and movement + advocate for myself to my birth team regarding how I wanted to push. My nurses told me to expect to push for 3+ hours as a first time mom and I chuckled knowing it would be much quicker with the tools I gained from Body Motion. My daughter was born in less than 30 minutes of pushing and I had very minimal tearing. My recovery was quick and easy. Body Motion has continued to be a crucial part of my postpartum recovery—even at almost 9 months postpartum I continue to see them monthly for maintenance. Without a doubt, this was the best money we spent throughout my pregnancy and continues to be the greatest investment for health and longevity in postpartum and beyond. Every single woman deserves this type of care.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you Body Motion!!♥️

I really enjoyed my sessions here! They helped prepare my body for labor and with my first baby I pushed for 12 minutes and she was here! I truly don’t think that would have been the case if it were for body motion! After birth I returned for several months to heal my body and pelvic floor and feel that it did wonders for my body 🙂

★★★★★

I am so happy I learned about the importance of pelvic floor PT early in my first pregnancy! I began seeing Riley at Body Motion PT at about 14 weeks pregnant with the goal of preparing my body for pregnancy and labor. Riley is extremely knowledgeable and professional and with her regular treatments I was able to remain active and relatively pain-free my entire pregnancy. I just delivered a week ago and felt as prepared for labor as I could be as a first time mom. I was made aware of optimal pushing positions for my body, the importance of diaphragmatic breathing, and how to effectively engage/relax my pelvic floor. My labor was smooth and quick, and the nurses/midwives couldn’t believe how strong and coordinated my pushing was! I’m looking forward to having a postpartum follow up with Riley next week. 🙂

★★★★★

I started going to Body Motion PT in my 3rd trimester and 100% credit Dr. Allison and her team with my success. This was my first pregnancy and I wanted to go into the birth fully prepared.

Thank goodness I went here prior to birth! I had a natural birth with no tearing, no episiotomy, and no induction needed. Just my body, a little luck, and a LOT of hard work! haha!

I have continued to see Dr. Allison for postpartum healing as well. She has helped immensely in my recovery. I highly recommend this place for anyone, especially women who are pregnant or postpartum!

★★★★★

I wish I could give them 6 stars. This has by far been the best investment into myself and my labor prep that I have made. FTM here with a baby who’s due any day and I couldn’t feel more calm and ready for my labor experience. I was hesitant to sign up due to price, but I am so grateful that I made the choice. Thank you Body Motion!!!

★★★★★

I started seeing Allison early on in during my first pregnancy and I am so happy I went! She helped me through aches and pains during my pregnancy as well as giving me stretches for my very tight muscles! I had an uncomplicated birth with no tears and I attribute a lot of that to all the hard work Allison put in with me over the months prior! I suggest her to all my friends who are pregnant or postpartum. She treats people on a whole. Allison and her secretary Devyn are so friendly and wonderful to work with, I felt so comfortable with with!

★★★★★

During my third trimester of pregnancy, I was in so much pain from my piriformis muscle that I was struggling to walk, get out of bed, etc. PT at Body Motion eliminated my pain, rendering the end of my pregnancy so much more manageable. I was so impressed with the quality of the care — from the sessions themselves to the stretches and other recommendations they suggested I do at home. I believe the PT made for a much better delivery, as I was more familiar with how to relax my pelvic floor muscles and the muscles themselves were more loose. I remember being a bit daunted by the cost of PT - wondering if I’d be better off going through my insurance. But ultimately, going to Body Motion who has such expertise in pregnancy and post partum and who can make the best care decisions for you, not based just on what insurance will cover, was so worth it. I can’t recommend enough!

Online birth prep FAQs

Frequently asked questions

When should I start this program?

It's never too early or too late. Whether you're newly pregnant or weeks from delivery, you'll benefit. Starting earlier gives you more time to practice.

How is this different from a birth class?

Most birth classes focus on labor stages and caring for your baby. This program focuses on your body: conditioning, relaxing, and coordinating your pelvic floor so you can push effectively and protect yourself from injury.

What's included?

Six expert-led video modules, lifetime course access, a companion guide with key takeaways, exercise and stretch examples, and a birth prep meditation.

How long do I have access?

For life. Watch at your own pace, revisit modules as your due date approaches, and use it again for future pregnancies.

Is it safe for every pregnancy?

The program is designed for healthy pregnancies. Always follow your OB or midwife's guidance, and if you have pain, bleeding, or a high-risk pregnancy, check with your provider first. We also offer in-person care in Edmonds.

I had a hard first birth. Will this help?

Yes. Many women join hoping for a redemption birth. Understanding what happened and preparing your pelvic floor, breath, and pushing can help you feel more in control this time.

What if I end up having a C-section?

Preparation counts however your baby arrives. Breathing, core coordination, and body mechanics all support a smoother recovery after a cesarean too.

Can I combine it with in-person care?

Absolutely. If you're near Edmonds, WA, our Pregnancy Support Package adds hands-on treatment and an individualized plan with one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy.

Is there a free preview?

Yes. Download the free preview ebook to get a feel for Dr. Allison's approach before you join.

A message from our founder

Why I started Body Motion

Years ago, I was frustrated in my own postpartum body. Since then I've seen too many women in their 40s and 50s dealing with hip, back, and joint pain, and leaking too, who go on to need joint replacements and, later, live with incontinence. That cycle is why I started Body Motion. Most women wait months or even years before getting help, and the one thing I can promise is that doing nothing won't make pelvic floor issues better. The next step is to take action. — Dr. Allison Feldt, PT, DPT
