Prepare Your Pelvic Floor For Menopause

Throughout our lives we go through different stages, as menopause approaches issues that have lingered around for years become enhanced. The decrease in hormones creates vaginal dryness, incontinence and bone loss. That is why it is important to optimize your pelvic floor and increase the blood flow to these muscles so that you can maintain the integrity of these muscles as estrogen decreases. This will decrease symptoms of incontinence and discomfort with intercourse.

Also having a strong core and pelvic floor will support your joints and help prevent injuries. Many of the women going through pre-menopause did not have access to Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy during their childbearing years. Issues from birth like pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti, incontinence and scar tissue have gone decades without treatment. Or if treatment was provided it was usually surgical leading to the presence of more scar tissue further decreasing blood flow to these muscles.

With the support of an Expert Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist at Body Motion Physical Therapy the internal and external scar tissue and adhesions will be eliminated, proper alignment will be achieved along with optimized coordination of the pelvic floor muscles. Personalized strengthening programs will be created based on the needs of each individual client.

Client Testimonials

“I was suffering greatly when I found Body Motion PT. I’d had two c-sections from 16 & 11 years back. Was suffering frequent UTIs and a kidney infection that had resolved momentarily, but I was still suffering UTI pain that was destroying my life. I was at the lowest point in my life and I found Allison and Body Motion. I’ll try I told myself. Nothing to lose. I drove the 2 1/2 hours from my home with hope in my heart. And wow. Within just a few sessions my pain started to dissipate and after many more it’s held strong. I’ve cut back on the amount of time I go and I’ve got my life back. Amazing. When Dr. Riley came on board I started working with her and they’re both phenomenal. I can’t say enough. I wished I had with this with the two births of my children. Could’ve saved myself years of struggle, but glad to have them now. I can live a pain free life and live my best life at 51.”

“Body Motion was highly recommended by a Fremont physical therapist and I think it might be the best recommendation I have ever had. I am 58 years old and was concerned and saddened when my occasional knee pain became chronic. Dr Allison and Dr Riley quickly diagnosed that my knee pain involves so much more than my knee! I see both Dr Riley and Dr Allison to unlearn old habits, embrace new habits, learn how to better move, breathe, walk, engage muscles, and build strength. My PT with Dr Riley and Dr Allison has been life changing and my UW orthopedic doctor agrees. I can’t say enough positive things about the practice. I feel seen and heard and completely supported. I feel respected and cared for and appreciated. And I feel capable and confident…. and when I have a low moment, Dr Allison and Dr Riley remind me, and SHOW me, how far I have come and boost my self esteem. I so appreciate the inviting and professional atmosphere of the office and I LOVE the private treatment rooms. Devyn is an administrative rock star and makes everything (including insurance claims) an easy breeze…. and I can tell Isabelle is going to be a valuable addition to the team. As much as anything, I love being connected with these strong, knowledgeable, passionate, and dynamic women. They have not only helped my body, they have profoundly enriched my life. Thank you!”
