Top 3 Things To Do Today To Improve Fertility

By Dr. Allison Feldt, PT, DPT 2 min read

Improving the chances of conception is a big focus in the world of fertility. But what if we take a step back and prioritize the physical aspects of conception? Ovulation, quality of the organs and muscles, and sexual experience.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy helps improve those essential aspects of conception.

I’m Dr. Allison Feldt, PT, DPT, and I own Body Motion Physical Therapy, a specialized pelvic health clinic. Our fertility clients receive exclusive support to help optimize their bodies for conception, and I want to share the Top 3 Things To Do To Improve Fertility.

Our fertility protocols include addressing adhesions in the pelvic floor and pelvic organs to ensure optimal blood flow and nutrients are being received for these essential components of conception and improving menstrual cycles and regularity.

Pelvic Congestion can affect the transport of the eggs from the ovaries to the uterus.

A study in 2004 states, “… site-specific manual soft-tissue therapy facilitates fertility in women with a wide array of adhesion-related biomechanical dysfunctions. The major indication for its use is a history suggesting abdominopelvic adhesions (ie, prior surgery, infection, inflammation, or trauma at the reproductive organs or neighboring structures).

This innovative, noninvasive, nonsurgical, manual therapeutic technique confers little risk and few adverse side effects or complications, and appears to be an effective treatment for facilitating natural fertility and improving pregnancy rates/embryo transfer in women undergoing subsequent IVF. Thus, it can be prescribed as an alternative or complementary treatment to standard gynecologic care and should be considered as a new adjunct to existing medical infertility treatments.” https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC1395760/#sec49

Clinically, we see our clients conceive within 3 months of using our Body Motion Physical Therapy Protocols because we include Body Motion Wave therapy.

This radial pressure wave breaks up adhesions and improves blood flow and cellular rejuvenation. Paired with internal Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy improving the quality of the three layers of the pelvic floor, it enhances the sexual experience and fertility results.

Working with a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist at Body Motion Physical Therapy will improve cycle regularity, overall pelvic health, and sexual experience for both partners allowing intercourse to happen more frequently.
