Why you should tell your friends you pee your pants

I know firsthand how embarrassing leaking can be. But 1 in 3 women struggle with incontinence. And I would say 50% of the women who call in about getting support at Body Motion PT heard about us from a friend. And 100% of them having been dealing with it for months if not years.
Incontinence is swept under the rug. Our moms struggle with it, we see clips in movies and TV where it’s normalized and we’re marketed products like Depends and leak proof underwear. It feels like it’s just what happens as you get older and you have to navigate it on your own.
Leaking urine isn’t happening because you have a weak pelvic floor.
Kegel’s don’t do anything to prevent the issue from progressing
And you don’t need to wear a pad for the next 40 years.
A tight pelvic floor is the reason most women are leaking urine. Scar tissue and stress cause these muscles to contract and lose their mobility.
These muscles need to be released and coordination needs to be restored and the leaks will disappear. It’s that simple.
It scares me that medications and surgeries are often the first suggestions from PCP’s.
ESPECIALLY because surgeries cause more scar tissue, feeding the root cause of the issue.
